Mosquito Bite

Poor Baby. Landon got a mosquito bite on Monday night. Tuesday, day care called, freaking out. As well, they should. His poor little side of his face swelled up and his eye was almost completely shut.

2 Year Checkup

We went in yesterday for Landon's 2 year well baby. He's doing great. (Except for the fact that he's still sleeping in mom and dad's bed.) He weighed 26 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 35 1/4 inches tall. Which puts him just over 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

He only had to get one shot, but after that, I gave him some tylenol and we went and laid in bed and watched some crazy cartoon. I slept, he kept waking me up. Dad finally got home and took him outside to help water the yard.

He's a growing boy.

Miss Cole's BBQ

Miss Nicole had a bbq this weekend - it was so much fun. She worked really hard getting her house all set up, and it looked great. She rented a jumper (a pink castle) for the kiddos (and some of the adults.) Landon loved it. He did convince Dad and myself to get in with him a couple of times. I'm telling you that thing was work.

We barbequed and sat around the fire pit well into the night. Maddox and Landon finally gave it up after watching Batm.an and Supe.rFriends. They were adorable.

Landon let us sleep in til 10:00 the next morning. Then we worked on the yard, mowing, edging, remulched the trees. Then left over at Miss Nicole's house. Fun weekend, but I'm definitely exhausted.

What?

Landon has learned to use the word 'what?'

Sad, sad day in mama's life. LOL...I was reminded today that 'what' is one step ahead of 'why?' Great.

Also, we got Landon new brown shoes, cause his old ones were WAY too small. Well, the new ones are too big...but, unfortunately, we didn't realize that until we already showed him how they were just like daddy's. So, obviously, once we put them on his little feet, he did not want to take them off. Not even to trade for his E.lmo sandals! Mind of his own.

Presents!

The best part of birthdays is spending the day with friends and family...or to a kid, opening presents!

Landon's 2!

Landon's party was a hit! We changed from a Nemo theme to Batm.an, since that's all that comes out of his mouth these days. Batm.an this and Batm.an that. "I'm Batm.an Mama!" My little boy's growing up.

We grilled out. Landon had two friends (his age) and the rest of his friends (our age.) Seth, Maddox and Landon all got hippity hop balls, batman masks, power rings, etc. They had a great time playing outside with the bubble makers and Landon's new teeball set up.

Then it was time for cake and presents. Landon was awesome. I guess he didn't realize he was unwrapping gifts. When he saw the first one in the box, a baseball glove and ball, his face was priceless. And every gift after that was the same. It was like everything he opened was THE BEST GIFT EVER. He was so excited to get all the books, videos, batman and superman toys.

Sh.uttle Flight and Disn.ey

Well, since everyone in my department is either pregnant or has a newborn, they were close to out of options to send people to the cape for this last launch. Yes, they chose me! I don't even care that I was an alternate. It was a chance for a free trip to Florida and to be with the crew, to see a night launch and a trip to Disney. A perfect vacation.

Bryan and Landon flew down to meet me, so we all got to enjoy some time in Florida. It was great. Landon loved the beach, the playgrounds, Disney, the plane ride. He had an ear ache, and his ear drum burst, but after that, he was much better. He was SO happy to see Mic.key Mou.se and Bu.zz - oh my gosh, Bu.zz - he loved him. Gave hime a high five, pushed all his buttons on his chest. Landon was in heaven!

Landon would clap for the ride after it was over, like "yay ride, you did a good job" it was hilarious.

Naps are important.

Sandy and Seth came down for a visit yesterday. The boys played their hearts out. Lan missed out on nap time, only sleeping for a short bit on the way to lunch.

So, about 6:30...he's out. Out cold. He woke up around 8:30ish, ate two bites of a corn dog and fell back to sleep.

And thus the reason he was awake at 5 am this morning. So, yes, starb.ucks in my hand, I'm exhuasted.

Plan.et Ea.rth

Our friend, Mr. Danny, purchased the Blue Ray Plan.et Ea.rth series yesterday. We watched Seasonal Forests and Deepest Ocean. OH. MY. GOSH. It was outstanding. Words can't even describe it. Awesome. Landon watched some of it too...he kind of got bored when they just talked about trees, but he liked seeing all the animals. Then the trees would come back on and he'd take off to go play in his Tho.mas the Tra.in tent (that Mr. Danny also bought him.) Spoiled, I tell you.

New House

SOOOO much has happened in the last two weeks. Which actually feel more like 12 weeks, but yep, only two.

We closed on the new house, got all of our furniture and junk out of the old house...and painted the new house, put up blinds, new lights, ceiling fans, etc, etc, etc.

Landon loves the new house. It's a two story with a great game room upstairs. That's where Landon drags everyone as soon as they come through the door. Landon's bedroom is upstairs and he got a big boy bed (Full size) for Christmas. He's been sleeping up there too (lol - i go up about 4ish and sleep the rest of the night with him, mainly cause I'm too tired once I get him back asleep to get up and go back downstairs.)

We've been working hard on the new house. My in-laws came down and helped SO much. They helped us paint, then schlepped everything out of our old garage over to the new house. The good thing is that we're only 2 and a half blocks away from our old house AND we sold the old house to our best friend, so he's being reasonable about us getting everything out of the garage.

Lan's learning all kinds of stuff. He surprises us every day with something new. He has also become a monkey. He climbs EVERYTHING, mostly me and my head. He must think I'm one great jungle gym. He was showing us the sing langauge from his baby einstein video...I didn't even realize he'd picked it up yet. But he knows tree, puzzle, blocks, flower, its so cute to see his little hands trying to make the signs.

His favorite character right now is 'Goopy' (goofy) - from Micky Mouse. He loves yelling out 'GOOOOPY' as soon as he sees any dog that resembles the cartoon. He also loves to say Ma-ma, over and over to make sure I'm paying attention to whatever he's doing. And "sit-sit-sit" to sit down and play with him. Outside is his other most used word.

Since the move, he's really become attached to his Pacifier (Maa, as he calls it.) I'm sure he needs a security object with all the changes going around, but I really wish we could get it away from him before it gets worse.

Christmas Recital

Landon's Christmas program lasted all of about 15 seconds. But he did a great job!

He's so cute. They led the kids in, each holding on to a long rope of red tensil, then handed out bells. The babies shook the bells while the adults sang Jingle Bells. They were all sooo cute.

Then we all headed over to Chili's for dinner. Yummo! Melyssa and Maddox went with us, the boys had a great time playing together.
