Volleyball Open Gym

Last night was open gym at Gilruth. Bryan, Loi and I played against some guys, while Danny played with his reverse fours team on a woman's net. I felt pretty good. And my sets were looking okay. I didn't wear my knee pads so I wouldn't be tempted to go down, but there were times when I wish I had them. I was able to play for about 1 1/2 hours - that's after Bryan and I ran a lap at the house (.7 mile.)

Also - USA agreed to pay the 200K for employee membership to the new Gilruth gym. So I guess its a good thing we went ahead and cancelled our Lobo's membership. Now we'll just have to see if we can find a time when Gilruth isn't packed.

Bryan finished putting the ottoman back together last night. He had removed the fabric, so we could wash it and the cushion. Its great. Looks brand new. I needed to work some more on the baby's room, but watched TV instead.

And we ate a Chick-fil-a last night, so we didn't have left overs for lunch today. Bad thing. Guess we'll probably go to Quizno's (ugh.)

Nicole gets home tomorrow - that means one more night with the dogs. Overall they haven't been that bad, its just tiring. And dirty.

Week 29 Doctor Visit

I saw Dr. Johnson today. Everything is normal. In fact he said, I'm pretty much an example of the average pregnancy. Glucose test came back normal, my blood pressure is normal, the baby's heartbeat is normal, my weight is normal. I'm measuring right on schedule - 29 weeks. I go back in 3 weeks and then I'll start visits every two weeks.

Bryan and I worked on the nursery this weekend. I bought wooden letters that spell out "L-A-N-D-O-N" - they were half price at Hobby Lobby, and I painted them navy. I cleaned out the baby's closet and hung all his clothes according to size. We also found a glider and ottoman in the NASA ad sheet last week. We picked it up, washed the cushions, Bryan took apart the rocker, cleaned it and stopped all squeaking. It looks brand new. All for $50. (Compared to over $200+ in the store.)

Took pics this morning:

Not so bad, course the black pants kind of hide things.

Weekend

I ran 2.5 miles on Friday! Yay me. That was after I did an upper body workout. Of course my legs were screaming at me afterwards, but oh well. The Mardi Gras run is in 3 weeks. I know that if I sign up, there's nothing wrong with walking if I have to. Bryan's really been working on his running. I think the race will help motivate him. Its sad to see how far back our running has sunk. But, I guess we're doing something about it - that's what matters.

Day Care - Officially enrolled

So Landon is officially registered for Day Care. In about 22 weeks, I'll be handing him over to total strangers. But, the good news, they have internet access, so I can be irrational and overprotective at work, watching my child for the 8 hours he's away from me.

Day care enrollment meant a special trip over to League City, so what better way to celebrate than a steak sandwich and onion rings from Tookies. MMM...mmm...mmm...good. Oh, and a small cone from Baskin Robbin's (Snicker something or other) which I accidently dumped down Bryan's shirt. Seriously - I thought he had it.

Seven Months

Yeah, yeah, I know...I need to post more frequently.

I'm 28 1/2 weeks now. Landon moves ALL the time. His favorite time is between 9 and midnight. But he's starting moving around during the day too.

We started working on the nursery - moving the book cases out, cleaning up the closet. We're waiting til February to buy the crib and dresser (hoping for a sale.) The bedding we wanted (Puppies and Planes) went on sale a few weeks ago, so we got some of the pieces. Its perfect for the yellow room and matches with the Nautica quilt we have for the twin bed.

Bryan and I have started exercising again (new year.) We're cooking at home and trying to eat more fruits and veggies. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the weight gain to a minimum for the next 12 weeks. I really want to get my strength training back up so labor may be easier and of course, so recovery will be shorter. Its getting harder as less and less of my clothes are fitting.

We had a nice baby shower in Tallahassee. Gina invited everyone over to her house. We had food and played some games. We received lots of great baby stuff. Clothes, monitor, swing, money for the crib. Sharon also gave us some baby clothes at Christmas.

I go back to Dr. Johnson on the 31st. Then I start visits every 2 weeks. I had my glucose testing done last week, hopefully that will come back normal. We also registered at the hosiptol and found a day care. Now day care - that's a whole other story.
