Happy Anniversary

Today's my anniversary! Four years with my best friend.

We put together a 5k the morning of our wedding day. Friends and family all signed up and ran. It was great.

Happy anniversary Bry, I love you!

Pre Anniversary Outing

This Thursday is our four year anniversary. Four years. Sometimes it feels like that day was just yesterday, but at the same time, it feels like I've been with Bryan for many many years. I got a GPS - for the car (lol - the running one will come later)! YAY! (Oh, and my mower - can't forget my mower!) Yesterday, we were fortuanate enough to have friends watch Landon so Bry and I hit the movie theatre. We saw Stepbrothers - hilarious, but very crass - and Batman - long and very dramatic. We had fun snuggling up in the theatre, eating our junk food and enjoying the movie. But we both missed Landon. LOL.
Sidenote - I can not believe how many young children there were watching Batman! I thought I'd have nightmares, I'm sure those kids didn't sleep well. How sad.

Aside from the one run on Saturday and lots of yard work, I didn't do much this weekend. Bry and I enjoyed a quiet weekend alone, no guests, no planned events, just family. It was nice and much needed.

I have a 3 miler on the schedule for this evening. We'll see. Volleyball starts up tomorrow with open gym and then the season starts next week. Its been forever and I'm ready to play again.

Circus (and I'm not talking about my family)

We took Lan to the circus this week. Along with our friends, the Viges, Nicole and Danny. What fun. The kids had a great time watching everything. The elephants, the horses, even the cute little doggies. We had a fabulous time, despite pretty much all of us being under the weather.
And we got out of there without buying any $40 piece of crap light-moving-shaking-spinning plastic toy.

Mono

It's official. Blood test came back positive for Mono.

While I thought I could still do the 5k tomorrow morning, a short trip to Target convinced me otherwise. Who knew 15 minutes in Target could make me feel like I'd run a marathon. I am exhausted. Needless to say, I now know I have no reason to be out tomorrow on that course. (Yes, Sandy, you're right - so not worth it.)

So, now, back home, snuggled up with my blanket, in my laz-y-boy watching ET, eating my jello...I'm ready for the weekend.

Good luck to Mel tomorrow.

I no want cussion!

Last night, Landon was jumping around our sectional. Bry and I both asked him to stop jumping, to which he replied, he was only tip-toeing. LOL. Then Bry said, "You should stop, or you're going to fall and get a concussion."
Lan looked over at Dad and laughed, "No, I no want cussion." Of course, Bry and I just look at each other and burst in to laughter.

Also, have to mention our walk last week. Landon decided (quite frequently now) that he wanted to wear big boy undies....and no shorts. Well, we were going out for a walk, so being a relaxed mom, we take off in the wagon, Landon wearing a sleeveless batman shirt, some hulk undies that are WAY too big, causing droopy bottom and his bright green crocs. No big deal, right, cause he's riding in the wagon. No one can really see how white trash unfashionable he is.

That is, until, he decides he wants to get out of the wagon and run/walk. LOL. We had to stop by Mr. Danny's to let him have a laugh and let Lan have a potty break.

Anxiety Attack (and Bryan Rocks!)

First of all, the AA. No, not that AA, I'm talking anxiety attack.

I went to the gym after work, to get in my 4 miler, realizing I haven't run since the previous Monday and I've signed up for a 5k this weekend and I haven't run a 5k in over a year and its going to be hot and, and, and...on comes the anxiety. I have no idea why. But I just felt like everything was wrong about me being at the gym.

Which, of course, turned into a horrible run. First of all, I get on the treadmill, check my heart rate - yeah, its already 120. So, bonafide attack. I walk for 2 minutes, trying to calm my heart down before it beats out of my chest and I have to clean blood off of everything. I finally start running, and barely mentally make it past the first mile when I have to walk. I finally ended up quitting deciding to stop at 3 miles. 32:54. Whatever.

So, on to the good stuff. Bryan rocks! Seriously! What you ask, did he do that was so wonderful? He bought me this:

Isn't he just the best husband ever. =-) I totally rocked that yard last night. I can't believe how much easier it made mowing. And its a super mulcher, so I only filled two bags of grass last night instead of like 6. Seriously, this is the best gift ever.

Waste of a weekend...

Apparently, I'm allergic to sulfur and any medication containing sulfur. How do I know this? Cause my eye didn't get better, in fact, it got horrible. But, I luckily found an optometrist that works on Friday afternoons (apparently this isn't a common thing - the doctor working on Friday afternoon, that is.) New medication and my eye is doing oh so much better.

But, that's my excuse for being lazy all weekend. I did nothing. Except nap and watch TV. Oh, and I cooked a wonderful dinner last night. Chicken and Rice, fried okra, squash casserole, baked apples, the works. It was scrumptious. And this morning I'm paying for it. My stomach is way upset. Why can delicious food be so bad for you?

Here's to a more productive and energetic week.

Pink Eye

I have pink eye. How junior high is that? LOL. Apparently, my precious little son brought it home from daycare on his clothes, blanket or shoes, but not, thankfully in his eye.

I went to the clinic at work, where they basically freaked out, yelling at me not to touch ANYTHING, right before they hosed me down with a water/bleach combo fire hose. Okay, well, maybe not a hosing down, but they did remind me 39012873 times to "not touch anything!" And they said I had to leave work immediately and not come back until the eye was clear. Uh, yeah. I've worked pretty good at getting my sick hours back in check, so I think I'll be back at work tomorrow. LOL. Unless, of course, I'm still oozing out my eye like that lizard that shoots blood.

About to go do my pushs up for the day. Woot woot. My abs and chest are still sore from Day 1 of this thing. Can't imagine how fun tomorrow will be.

Update: Did the pushups, 9,8,6,5,10. oh dear goodness.

4th of July Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend. Bryan's parent came in Thursday night. Friday, we finished cleaning up around the house, and prepared for a BBQ with lots of friends. Everyone came over for good food, bringing along their favorite dishes. It was delicious and a lot of fun to have all our friends over.

Bry had picked up a few fireworks (sparklers, roman candles, etc.) so we had fun watching him light those and even let Landon hold his own sparklers. He loved it.

On Saturday, Mel came by with a surprise! She picked up batman suits. The boys promptly put on their outfits, masks, capes and all. Lan didn't move much at first, but then they ran to the office to watch Superfriends.

Then Nic and I went up to Summerwood to see Sandy. We took Seth some birthday presents and had a great time visiting with Sandy, watching Seth play and holding baby Sage. He's still tiny, but definitely growing. Wish I would have taken some pictures while we were there.

We also went to the Dickinson Wildlife park. It was overcast on Sunday morning, so it was perfect weather (for July) and the animals were all out, ready to eat. Lan kept saying, "Look, more deers." "More deers!" "Mama, more deers." LOL.

Then we went over to Joe's for some great bbq, then on over to Froberg's farmer market. We picked up plums, cherries, zuchinni, squash, bell peppers, etc. Everything looked so fresh.

Then it was home to nap. We had a great weekend. Which went by entirely too fast.

4am conversation

Landon: "Mommy, listen"
Me: "What baby? That's just the storm."
Landon: "No, that's Daddy's music."
Me: "Uh, okay..."
Landon: "He dancin'. "
Me: "What?"
Landon: "Daddy dancin'."
Me: "He is?"
Landon: "Uh huh, yeah, he dancin'."

Then he went back to sleep.
