Sleep

Landon needs more sleep. I know that's the problem. And mom needs more sleep. We're going to work on that.

Locked out!

Funny story from last night.

It was beautiful yesterday, so Bryan stopped by the grocery on his way home and picked up corn and burgers to grill. Landon and I went straight home and mowed the yard. He loves to mow with his little mower while I do the hard work with the big one!

Our Houston family came over - Mr. Danny and Miss Nicole, along with the Viges. The adults were outside eating and visiting, when we hear a scuffle from inside. We peak through the window and see Maddox behind Landon - he's got him in a head lock! LOL...I run to the door, to discover they've locked it! We're locked out of the house and their fighting over a deflated shuttle toy!

Luckily, Mr. D had his keys in his pocket, and opened the door in less than .2 seconds. Both the boys were telling each other "no-no" - each thinking the other was the one in the wrong. They were both fine and we all laughed about it. LOL...it actually kind of looked like Maddox was adjusting Landon's back. LOL. Where's the camera's wehn you need them.

OKC

We had a great time in Oklahoma, visiting family. We got there late Friday night, checked into the hotel and went to visit with all Lan's cousins. He was shy and didn't say a thing until we left their rooms.

Saturday morning, we got up and ready, when Lan threw up on every single towel and piece of clothing in the room. He was running a fever and throwing up Cran-Grape juice. We never figured out what made him sick, but once he got all the juice out of his system, he was much better. He slept all the way to my cousin Suzie's house and some of the time while we were there. We had a delicious brunch with family, then sat outside on the porch (her house is 102 years old!)

We went to the Health Expo, picked up my packet, walked around the memorial for a while. Then went back to the hotel for a nap. Finally got up for dinner and ate at Kona Ranch - delicious. Then back to the hotel, my sister took Lan up to their room and he played with the kids for awhile.

On Sunday we got up early for the half marathon - in freezing cold rain and wind. Not fun. But Landon stayed with the family, inside the church where it was nice and warm. He had a great time playing with Kallie, Abbie and the boys.

- Just a few of the family members who joined us for the weekend.

"I go water"

Bry's still out of town and Miss Cole had a prior appointment, so thankfully Miss Mel came through in a pinch. Maddox has swimming lessons on Tuesdays, so Landon went with them to the pool. And apparently REALLY wanted to get in too. Melyssa tried to convince him that he didn't have any swim trunks, so maybe next time if they brought swimmers, he could go. I guess he was okay during the lessons, because he thought his 'turn' was next. As they packed up to go home, he then realized he wasn't getting a turn.

So the whole way back to their house, he cried, "I go water, I go water." Poor kid. I met them at the house and picked up a shirtless boy who really wanted to go swimming.

The whole way home, Landon keeps saying, "I go water" so I think I'll take him by the Tuscan apartments and let him see that the pool is too cold. We get there and I keep saying, the waters cold, we can't swim, its too cold. Yeah, well, we put our feet in.........it's not cold. LOL…he loves it. And now he wants to get in the big pool (we were just wading in the shallow seating section.) I'm still in my volleyball clothes, so I call Mr. Danny and see if he'll put on a swimsuit and come with us. So we go over to Danny's, pick him up and get some towels and head back over. Landon and Danny swam for about 30 minutes.

So, my cold water idea totally backfired on me. Now that I see how much he loves swimming, and how nice the water was (it's a salt water pool) I may try to take him to the pool after work some days, so he can get his swimming in.

Still learning...

Last night, Landon and I were home alone. I went to go potty and realized we were out of toilet paper in our master bathroom. So, thinking Landon's old enough to understand, I yell for him. He comes running in (after finally figureing out where I was) and I ask for some toilet paper. He first claps for me and says "yea, mama potty." Then I show him the empty toilet paper roll - to which he says, "paper go bye-bye."
Me: Yes, would you go get mama some toilet paper?
L: ...grins, "no."
Me: "please! go to your potty room and get some toilet paper"
Landon takes off...I hear a squeal, and he comes running back with:

Me: "Thanks for the El.mo shoes, but I need toilet paper, go into your potty room..."
Landon takes off again, this time bringing back:

L: "mama, catch, up mama, up"
Me: "mama can't get up until you find toilet paper....or HEY, go get wet wipes off the dresser! Yeah, go get wet wipes!"
L: "I not dirty, no wet wipes, wet wipes went bye-bye."
Me: "they did not...go, hurry, see if you can find wet wipes"
Lan runs out the door and immediately runs back, "wet wipes go bye-bye" shrugging his arms to the side, like, sorry mom, you're out of luck."

Me: "lan, please go get toilet paper, like this (showing the empty roll) out of the other bathroom, or wet wipes or kleenex or something!"
Landon takes off...is gone for a while...then I hear a strange noise coming toward the bathroom:

So, yeah, a few more weeks before we understand the whole, "go get _______, please"

Jacket

I'm so thankful Landon made me put on a jacket this morning. We had a strong bands of thunderstorms pass through this morning (or are in the process of passing through.) It was only sprinkling when I walked with him into daycare. When I left, holy moly, the rain was coming down. But luckily, he told me "mama jacket", "mama jacket", "i zip up" - lol - and I was able to use my jacket to keep me from being completely soaked.

Another cute story. We've always called landon a little monkey cause, man, that boy is a climber. In the mornings, we say, "Wakey, Wakey, Monkey Baby" so yesterday I was said the usual and told him to stretch out monkey...then I said, "Landon...wake up" - his response, "I no landon, I monkey" LOL...he is the greatest thing ever.

My little monkey baby.

Mosquito Bite

Poor Baby. Landon got a mosquito bite on Monday night. Tuesday, day care called, freaking out. As well, they should. His poor little side of his face swelled up and his eye was almost completely shut.

2 Year Checkup

We went in yesterday for Landon's 2 year well baby. He's doing great. (Except for the fact that he's still sleeping in mom and dad's bed.) He weighed 26 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 35 1/4 inches tall. Which puts him just over 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

He only had to get one shot, but after that, I gave him some tylenol and we went and laid in bed and watched some crazy cartoon. I slept, he kept waking me up. Dad finally got home and took him outside to help water the yard.

He's a growing boy.

Miss Cole's BBQ

Miss Nicole had a bbq this weekend - it was so much fun. She worked really hard getting her house all set up, and it looked great. She rented a jumper (a pink castle) for the kiddos (and some of the adults.) Landon loved it. He did convince Dad and myself to get in with him a couple of times. I'm telling you that thing was work.

We barbequed and sat around the fire pit well into the night. Maddox and Landon finally gave it up after watching Batm.an and Supe.rFriends. They were adorable.

Landon let us sleep in til 10:00 the next morning. Then we worked on the yard, mowing, edging, remulched the trees. Then left over at Miss Nicole's house. Fun weekend, but I'm definitely exhausted.

What?

Landon has learned to use the word 'what?'

Sad, sad day in mama's life. LOL...I was reminded today that 'what' is one step ahead of 'why?' Great.

Also, we got Landon new brown shoes, cause his old ones were WAY too small. Well, the new ones are too big...but, unfortunately, we didn't realize that until we already showed him how they were just like daddy's. So, obviously, once we put them on his little feet, he did not want to take them off. Not even to trade for his E.lmo sandals! Mind of his own.

Presents!

The best part of birthdays is spending the day with friends and family...or to a kid, opening presents!

Landon's 2!

Landon's party was a hit! We changed from a Nemo theme to Batm.an, since that's all that comes out of his mouth these days. Batm.an this and Batm.an that. "I'm Batm.an Mama!" My little boy's growing up.

We grilled out. Landon had two friends (his age) and the rest of his friends (our age.) Seth, Maddox and Landon all got hippity hop balls, batman masks, power rings, etc. They had a great time playing outside with the bubble makers and Landon's new teeball set up.

Then it was time for cake and presents. Landon was awesome. I guess he didn't realize he was unwrapping gifts. When he saw the first one in the box, a baseball glove and ball, his face was priceless. And every gift after that was the same. It was like everything he opened was THE BEST GIFT EVER. He was so excited to get all the books, videos, batman and superman toys.
