Cake please.

Landon asked for cake for breakfast this morning. I assumed he was talking about his oreo cakesters. I put them in his bowl and took them to him.
Lan: No mom. I want the big, big cake.
Me: What big cake? You're going to have to show me.

I take Lan into the kitchen, look all around.

Lan: I want the big cake.
me: We don't have a big cake.
Lan: Yeah, like the on in the magazine.

I look over, and laying by the couch is a Family Circle with a huge cookies and creme cake on the cover.

Me: Ah, Lan, that's just on the magazine, we don't have one of those, do you want your little cakes.
Lan: Okay.

Breakfast without Mom

Just found out that for breakfast, Landon had an ice cream sandwich and a pink iced cookie.

Best Friends

Landon got to have his two best friends over last night, Maddox and Mr. Danny. He was in heaven. I went to pick up Maddox at his daycare, but the lady almost didn't let me take him! Which, in her defense, I guess is a good thing that they're very careful about who they let come and go. And then to make it worse, when I got to Maddox's room, he just kind of looked at me like, "who are you?" LOL. He finally realized who I was and told me that his Daddy said we were going to Chuck E Cheese. LOL...uh, not tonight sugar.

When we got to the house, Lan and M. ran around like punks. They kept yelling "Monster" which meant Mr. Danny, and then would run away squealing anytime they say him coming their way.

We had strawberries from Perry's (Thank you Kim!) we all ate one, then Danny put gum in his mouth. Some how, Landon thought the strawberry turned into gum, so he kept asking for the strawberry gum. He did eat the strawberry, but was disappointed when it didn't actually turn out to be gum. I think Danny may have given him some gum later (along with an ice cream sandwich and a pink iced cookie.)

Fish

Miss Nicole gave Landon fish and a cute fish aquarium for a belated Christmas present. Landon was SO excited. He sat on his little stool in the kitchen and watched the fish all afternoon.

We've since become what is known as "accidental Aquariusts." The cute little fish tank couldn't support the number of fish we had (and one even took a bite out of another one and killed it! Fish life lesson number 1.) So after some research and lots of shopping, Landon now has a 29 gallon tank with 2 guppies, 7 neon tetras, 7 zebra danios and 2 cory cats.

He loves it. He makes everyone go check out his fish. A gift that I wasn't very excited about turned out to be a great thing for Landon...and for Bryan...who has now done so much research on fish...good grief. He spits out information all the time. I don't know who is more impressed with the aquarium, Bryan or Landon. But its fun to watch them sitting on their stools watching the fish.

Week 9

Morning Sickness has hit full force. I've put bags in my car and purse in case it hits at an inopportune time...like for instance, sitting in traffic on the way downtown. Yeah. Nice.

I'm still exhausted and phenergan just adds to that. I had been eating pean.ut bu.tter crackers to help with the nausea, but found out this morning, that the ones I have are made by Ke.ebler, so those went to the trash.

Landon's been asking for his friends to come stay the night. Casey, Maddox, Jakey and Matthew. We keep telling him that they're asleep at home in their big boy beds. LOL - doesn't work. Landon and Bryan have been playing a lot together. Since I'm usually sick and/or tired, I'm usually out. It's so funny to watch them together.

Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes were here for the weekend. Landon had so much fun playing with them. He wanted Grandma to do everything with him. I really wish we were closer to family.

Serves me right...

I've been going on and on about how I've been better this time around. That morning sickness was only nauseous. Well, that happy little camper is gone. Morning sickness sucks. It does. And it really isn't fun, holding a bag, driving and navigating through Houston traffic.

I got sick on Saturday, made Bry run pick up my script at Target. I was better after that, kept everything down, not very nauseous, just exhausted. Yesterday was good, I snacked all day to keep food in my tummy.

This morning - not good at all. I have crackers by the bed, as soon as I woke up, I knew it was coming. I ate a few crackers before getting out of bed, but that didn't matter. Got dressed, tried to eat a slice of apple, but ended up high-tailing it to the bathroom. So, so, so not fun.

Then there was the drive. I'm in training downtown all week, don't know how I made it here. And am considering renting a room. Luckily the class room is -13 degrees, so that helps. There's only 3 people in here now, so if the Phenergan starts putting me to sleep, I might be in trouble.

Week 8

I went to the doctor on Monday, originally thinking I was 8.5 weeks along. He did an internal sonogram (eww) and measured the little cashew several times...and then readjusted my due date. So now, its August 25th. I was about 5 days off in my calculations.

I think I'm doing better, sick-wise. I can at least eat now, even though most of the time nothing sounds appealing. If I wait too long, or eat too much, I get sick right away. So I'm trying to get meals in every 2 hours or so and then not stuff myself.

(I was much more sick with Landon - throwing up all the time, had to keep plastic bags in my car and purse. I haven't been that bad this time - yet. Dr. N warned me that it might get worse, uh thanks? )

Pink feet

Landon tried and tried to talk us out of a bath tonight. He and Bry went upstairs to pick out clothes for tomorrow (one morning argument down...)

Bryan pulled off Landon's socks and his entire feet were pink. Apparently they'd had a paint project at school and hadn't bothered cleaning his feet. He's now in the tub upstairs with Bryan while I get to sit and update the blog.

Mornings have not been fun. For some reason, he's adamant about not wearing shoes. Or rather, tennis shoes. He'd wear crocs every day if we'd let him. But this morning it was cold and raining so we had to battle it out to get shoes on him. So frustrating.

Twister with cousins.

The Egyptian

Last night, Bryan was making up a story for Landon's bed time. Landon wanted it to be about Batman and Landon, and Journey, and Mommy and Daddy. He'd randomly add things for Bryan to include in the story.
Then he said and the (what sounded like) ji-gen.
Bryan: "and batman got the Egyptian..."
Lan: "No, dad the ji-gen! JI-GEN!"

Bryan looks at me...

Mommy: "He saying Children."

Beef is disgusting

At least that was my thought at lunch. I've been really craving chili's big mouth little burgers. So instead of Chik-fil-a I convinced Bry to take us to Chili's. Landon was so excited to get cheese pizza. He was upset when the waiter just returned with our waters and not the food.

The food soon came and I took a bite. Oh. My. Gosh. Disgusting. Its like I was eating raw meat. I'm gagging just thinking about it. I couldn't even look at it after that. Luckily, I'd already stuffed my face with Texas cheese fries so I wasn't all that hungry.

After that, we headed over to Target to hit the Christmas sales. We got wrapping paper, gift bags, tissues and tags, all 75% off.

Week 7

I haven't yet (fingers crossed) gotten as sick as I did with Landon. right now, I'm just queasy all time. All. The. Time. But, at the same time, I'm starving. And of course nothing sounds appealing. Just had lunch with Bryan, chinese...which sounded delicious, and now just typing it makes me want to vomit.

And I'm exhausted. Like, fall asleep in my car, exhausted. Yesterday I took TWO naps (thank you Bryan.) This is my first day back at work after the holiday break, not very many people here. I had a ton of work to catch up on so it was easy to stay busy.

I brought running clothes with me, but at this point, I can't even imagine putting the clothes on, much less actually running.
