Family Weekend

My sister and mother came in this weekend. We did a 5k on Saturday and a half marathon relay on Sunday. Landon was great the whole time! It was pretty cold here this weekend, so he got to bundle up in his little Florida Gator ski suit. He was just TOOOO Cute.

The 5k on Saturday was at the zoo, so we stayed after the race and walked through all the exhibits. Landon loved the meercats and the monkeys. He'd watch them run all over thier cages.

He LOVED having Jill and Mom there. He kept wanting to give Jill hugs and kisses.

7 Month Checkup

Yes, I realize it was supposed to be a 6 month check up, but...

Landon was 17 pounds 12 ounces, 27.5 inches long, and I don't remember his head circumference. He was still under the 50 percentile on his weight, but almost 70% on his height.

And he gets to start eating lunch. LOL. We'd only been doing the baby food for breakfast and dinner, so now he'll get another meal - plump that baby up.

Two shots (one for flu.) He did great. Just a small startle cry.

Sleep or No Sleep

Landon was great yesterday. We picked him up, he fell asleep on the way home. Bryan rocked him while I got ready (from my run.)

Landon finally woke up, we picked up Danny and headed out to Kemah, yummy Saltgrass. Landon had fun flirting with all the girls. He ate his oatmeal and mixed vegetables (gnasty) and fell asleep in his high chair.

We put him in bed when we got home and he slept until about 11. When he wakes up crying. So I pick him up, bring him to the living room and rock him, give him some more bottle, some teething tablets and he sleeps.

Then its the waking up screaming thing all over again. From about midnight until 2:30. He was awake though this time. We did all we could think of until 1:30 when I decided he was definitely overtired by this time and just needed sleep. So I put him in his crib, turned on his music and his humidifier (white noise + moisture.) Went in at 5 minutes, he's still crying. Stayed with him a minute - he was SO tired. Kept crying. Went in after 10 minutes. Still crying, but not as hard, he was getting to tired. Bryan went in after another 10 minutes, still crying. Finally, an hour later, Bryan just went in and covered him up - he was asleep. He slept from 2:30 until we woke him up this morning at 8 to leave for day care.

I felt horrible last night, but I just think he doesn't know how to fall asleep by himself. And that is not a good thing. After him crying with us for that long, I knew 1) he wasn't hungry 2) he didn't have gas 3) he didn't want his paci 4) he didn't care about us holding him 5) his diaper was dry 6) he was at a good temperature 7) his teeth are fine. So now we're committed. We're going to keep it up for the next few nights. Hopefully he'll start sleeping in his crib.

Nightmares?

So, I've read that infants aren't capable of having nightmares. After last night, I would have to disagree. Landon woke up screaming. Not even crying, he was past the crying. He screamed. Then he moved on to the huge sobs. We couldn't get him to wake up. It was so sad. So. Sad. I just hugged him, rubbed his back, tried to talk to him, sing to him. Mason and Maddie (the dogs) tried to comfort him. I took all his clothes off thinking maybe something was biting him - nothing. Changed his diaper, nothing. After about 15 minutes (long enough that Bryan got online and looked up infant nightmares) he fell asleep. He woke up about an hour and a half later, same thing. I stripped him down again, changed his diaper. Finally, he took a bottle and fell asleep, naked. We woke up at 4:30 on a wet sheet, so we changed again, then moved Bryan to the side of the bed and slept in the middle.

Of course, the boy wakes up happy this morning. And Dad and Mom still aren't awake.

Kim watched him last night at volleyball since Nicole's in Germany. He was awesome with her. I was nervous, but he was on his best behaviour. Bwah ha ha...trick her into wanting babies!

Landon Waved!!

Yep! Last night, I came in from my run, Bryan was holding Landon and he started waving to me! How cute is that.

This weekend was Lizzie's Halloween "Birthday" Party. Aside from the heat and mosquitoes, it was great. All the kids had a great time. Kim and Katie went out of control. There was a moonwalk for the kids to jump in, a scavenger hunt behind the house, a popcorn machine, sno cones, each kid decorated a picture frame for their costume picture, cupcakes, a beautiful pumpkin cake, hotdogs, etc. Landon definitely enjoyed it. He thought all the kids were yelling and talking to him so he spent a lot of time squealing back at them. Our pictures of his costume didn't turn out well, so I'll have to scan the one Kim shot. I think Lizzie was definitely pleased with her 'birthday' party. (And she wanted Landon to wear all her Little Mermaid costume jewelry at church yesterday.

We had a cold front come through last week...it was awesome. Just to make his dad proud...Our little Florida Gator:

Baby's growing up

Man, I just can't believe how big my baby boy is! He sits up by himself, rolls around, gets his toys, etc, etc. When did he grow up?

He still smashing the cheerios and goldfish on his high chair tray, but now he will occasionaly eat one too. Both his bottom teeth are showing now...just like two little tic tacs in his mouth.

Oh, and they told me at day care that he has a girlfriend! Hanna. Apparently she crawls over to his walker and gives him a big hug every day. Too cute.

We finally got him in his little UF Gator Ski suit this morning. Too cute. Of course, its still too hot for him to wear it, oh well.

The Artoberfest is this weekend in Galveston. I'm heading down there with Nicole tomorrow morning, then Bryan and Landon are meeting us after noon. So the boys get a morning together. I'm so jealous.

Rash a dash

The rash is slowly going away. Poor guy. It never spread any where, just stayed around his nose and eyebrows.

But I learned this week that he's a totally spoiled little brat.

Galleria

After church yesterday we met friends at PF Changs for my birthday lunch (turned 30 on Saturday!) Then we decided with the rain we'd just stay in the area until church at 6. So we headed to the Galleria.

Landon was great. We didn't have a stroller in the car, so it was baby carrying the whole time. But Landon was having a great time. He was just sure that everybody was talking to him, so he spent the first 1.5 talking, squealing, laughing at all the people. He LOVED the disney store. I think he would have stayed there all day if he could have. He finally conked out for about an hour, we sat some and shopped some. Lots of great stuff at Pottery Barn Kids...if I had the money...lol.

He woke up just as happy. He sang through church and afterwards, squealed at Lizzie and Katie. He thought that was great fun.

His cough is still bad. Worse at night (like last night.)

This morning, he woke up with a rash on his face. Just above his left eye and all down and around his nose. I have NO idea what it is. We tried researching it (which, every baby disease has a rash) and finally concluded that he must have had an allergic reaction to something. Its pitiful and looked even worse under the flourescent lights at daycare. I felt like a horrible mother. He needs to go in for his 6 month well baby, but he can't get over this cough.

Cold is back

Landon's cough is back and was pretty bad last night, so we made a doctor's appointment today. He weighed in at 17 pounds 3 ounces...which is almost a pound more than he weighed just two weeks ago! Doctor said his chest sounded okay, so she gave us a prescription to fill if anything got worse (fever, cough, breathing) this weekend. He feel asleep after we left and slept through lunch.

He's sleeping throught the night pretty well after giving up his 4:00 feeding. But he's gotten to wear he wants his face smushed up against the bumper (in his crib) or my pillow (in our bed.) Which makes me very nervous. I think I'll take out the bumber tonight.

Oh, and he's mastered the sippy cup. Right now he's just been drinking water with a little bit of sugar in it. Not sure if we should try the formula in there yet or what? I don't think he needs juice yet, either. Ideas?

Found His Toes

Landon has discovered his toes. In fact, he's also learned that he can get them to his mouth. I caught this on camera last night when we got home from volleyball.

Fall Fever

Landon's tooth has popped through. A tiny (sharp) white spot on the left bottom.

He has become quite the talker lately. And a little bit of a squealer too.
Sorry this is short. But here's some great pics from our 5k run this weekend.

West Texas Trip

So I have to catch up a few days...sorry, I don't know why I haven't posted.

Landon loves his new car seat, most of the time. It is much easier to get him in and out and he sits higher, so he can look out the window now, which helps keep his attention sometimes.

Also - we have a tooth. Well, a little, tiny, itty bitty part of a tooth. I was helping him with an animal cracker and he bit down on my cuticle...ouch. I don't know how long it takes for a tooth to come all the way out, I'd guess a while. We had one horrible night - last Tuesday. He cried and screamed most of the night. But that was it. One night. And he's finally over his little cold. We went back to the doctor because we couldn't get rid of his cough. She put him on antibiotics and gave us some real cough medicine (PediaCare and Tylenol Cold just weren't cuttin' it.)

We made the trip out to West Texas last weekend. And we managed to some how fit 5 football games in, in five different towns. We watched my nephew, Alex, he was the prince for Ft. Sumner's homecoming court. Then my nephew, Taylor, intercepted a pass for a touchdown to win his game. My brother's (Tanner) team beat Amarillo in the last few seconds with a field goal. My nephew, Trevor, played some massive boys (he's in fifth grade) they lost. And then finally, back to ENMU's homecoming (who also lost.) Lost of family and everyone passed around Landon who happily took in all the attention.

We have 5K coming up this weekend. I'm, actually pretty nervous about it. I haven't run a race since a year ago last February. And that was prepregnancy. My body just isn't quite the same. But most of you know how that goes.

Other news...hmm...Landon learned to say "Ba" so now its "mmm, mmmmmmmm, mmm, BA" And he's still saying "Goya goya goya" before he falls asleep. Oh yeah, I have a video of that I can post.
