On the move

On Saturday, Landon stood up on his own and walked over to Bryan!!! He'd still rather crawl most the time, and will go 'limp' like wet spaghetti if he doesn't want to walk and you're trying to make him.

On the way home from church yesterday, Bryan coughed and then Landon did a little fake cough. We laughed so hard, so then Landon would fake cough again and then laugh. He's so cute!

I actually cried when I left him at day care today. He was a handful at times this past week, but it was so nice staying home with him. It's amazing how quickly they learn things. Yesterday he was making loops through the kitchen, dining room, and living room...just kept crawling through all the rooms, looking for the dogs. He wants to play with them all the time.

Guess I'll catch up on the week of work I missed. Wish I was home!!!

On the mend...finally

Landon's been running a fever since Tuesday afternoon. I think maybe today (fingers crossed) its finally gone. We went to the doctor yesterday - she said it was the start of another ear infection, so more augmentin (sp?) and a check up in a week. He's temp got up to 103 a couple times, but this morning at 5:30 (101.3) was the last fever he's run. So hopefully its behind him. He hasn't been eating much the last few days, but he's doing good drinking.

We were going to Wal-Mart yesterday to get a different thermometer (later on that...) and I was giving Landon some applesauce in the car on the way. He was eating one second and the next, applesauce is spewing everywhere. Bryan managed to pull over in the Randall's parking lot, I took Landon out and stripped him down - thank goodness for the 80 degree weather. So here, I have this baby in diapers and sandals, baby puke all over the car seat, the back of the seats, his clothes, my hands. But Landon is SOOOO excited to be outside naked. Luckily I had another shirt and pants that matched fairly well.

So, the thermometer. We finally spent the money on the forehead one...where you rub it across the forehead. Oh man, best purchase so far. I needed that like four days ago. Its quick and accurate - I was double checking with under arm and paci one. (That's more like triple checking I guess.)

Here's some pictures of my sick baby:

Sick Baby (again, I know.)

I got a call from day care yesterday afternoon saying Landon woke up with a fever (100.4) so I picked him up early and we headed home. I couldn't find any thermometers in our house except for the pacifier one we bought before he was born. He was pretty lethargic, so he didn't mind keeping it in his mouth. After some tylenol and a bottle it went down to 99...and he ended up taking another 2 hour nap.

He played most of the night, but wouldn't leave me...he had to be touching mama at all times. We ended up reading his books over and over cause he just wanted to sit in my lap. He still eating and drinking well, so there's at least that. He doesn't seem to be bothered by anything else. We gave him some more medicine and put him to bed...he woke up around 12, and I brought him to our bed...around 4, he rolled over on top of me and almost burned my skin off. He was so hot, poor baby. I finally found a thermometer - 102.8! More tylenol, lots of juice and a wet wash clothe. He went back to sleep...woke up crying this morning cause Mama wasn't in bed with him. His temp when I left the house this morning was 98, so hopefully he's getting over the fever.

I have pictures, I need to post...I'm supposed to go home at lunch and switch with Bryan, so maybe I'll get a chance to post them then.

Something else I've been meaning to blog about...Landon loves to eat my hair. I know, that sounds gross...he actually just sticks it in his mouth. He also LOVES to try to get me to eat it...or dad to eat it. Which he thinks is super hilarious. He's always played with my hair to go to sleep...but the mouth thing just started a couple weeks ago...

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a fun weekend (of course Dad has today off so he's still enjoying his weekend.)

On Friday, we had spaghetti, salad, bread, the works, even angel food cake with strawberries and whip cream for dessert. We gave Landon some noodles. He loved the way they flew threw the air, wasn't too interested in eating them (of course he'd already had garden vegetables and blueberry buckle - which is awesome by the way. We rented Nacho Libre - pretty funny.

On Saturday, my friend Sandy and I did a 5k run in Galveston, the Mardi Gras Beach Run. It was a little cold and windy, but the run was nice overall. I'm still battling a sinus infection, but my breathing was okay. Landon enjoyed the people, but wanted soooo badly to get down and crawl in the sand. He did have some muffins and bagels after the race. He wasn't just satisfied with the bagel I gave him, he had to toddle over to Sandy and get some of hers.

After the run we went to IHOP for their pancakes. By the way, they're having free pancakes on Tuesday for national Pancake Day. Then we went over to watch a Mardi Gras Parade. It was mostly bands and drill teams, with revelers walking. Landon got a ton of beads (without showing anything. LOL.) We headed home.

Yesterday, I woke up with a horrible sore throat, simply from having to sleep with my mouth open. So we stayed home from church. We took Landon for a walk yesterday afternoon and met some neighbors a couple streets over. They have two boys. The 20 month old was outside, so he and Landon rolled around in the grass while we visited.

It was a nice weekend. If anybody has any advice on how to get over a sinus infection (and yes, my husband has already told me doing the run on Saturday in the cold didn't help) then I'm all ears, well partly ears, since they're still clogged up too from all the blowing.

Oh, (have I rambled enough) I checked out the Baby Whisperer for Toddlers from the library. Interesting so far. I know there's mixed feelings about her books, but I've enjoyed reading her perspective on things.

* Landon walked some more last night. We practiced taking 3-4 steps to mom and dad. His balance is great when he's standing, but once he gets moving, he's still a little wobbly. Won't be long, then I'll wish we hadn't practiced at all.

Nights

Landon's having better nights. We stopped doing breathing treatments before bed and he seems to sleep better (deeper.) He even stayed in his crib two nights in a row (for most the night anyway.)

He is having the best time beating his lego's against the TV. Yesterday he was doing this, so Dad told him no, took the lego away and moved him on the other side of the table (we have a small lego table in front of the TV to block the vcr.) So Landon pushes his belly out, grabs another lego and reaches as far as he can and starts banging it on the TV - I stuff my head under a couch pillow to muffle the laughing...Dad didn't think it was funny.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Landon and I still have this crud. I just want everyone to be well, already.

Happy valentine's day! We aren't planning on going anywhere tonight - too crazy. Bryan and I had lunch together, he gave me two cards (one from him and one from both my boys.) They gave me $$$ for Estee Lauder makeup. Yay! I need new stuff.

Landon's having a valentine's party at daycare today. Who knows what that means. A party for eleven >1 year olds. LOL.

Isn't he getting so tall! He's almost 30 inches.

Landon loves pushing around his walking toy. I'll have to get pictures tonight. He takes it all over the house, but of course stops for the dog toy basket. He likes to carry the dogs' toys to them (in his mouth of course.)

Chocolates and CSI: New York

So my best friend's husband is a chocolateer...and no I can't get you any deals, but they're prices are great, so if you need chocolate, use them! ( Images in Chocolate)

Anyway - they just got an order from CSI: NY for truffles. On March 21st, the truffles will be part of the main plot...involving poison. Set your DVRs. And thank goodness it wasn't Miami, not that I don't love all the CSI shows, its just that Horatio Cane creeps me out.

Our first real boo-boo

This weekend went by so fast. Landon still has a runny nose and cough. Mom's still congested (and pretty sure I ruptured an ear drum.)

Also, Landon had his first real boo-boo. He was having a great time, crawling and cruising around the kitchen. He decided to look out the back windows and fell, hitting his chin on the window seal. You know the cry, where its coming, but there's no sound. That's what it was, I picked him up and it looked like a dent in his chin, yeah, then the blood started coming. Poor guy. He got over it pretty quick. We put a bandaid across his chin, to keep it clean.

Landon's trying to walk more now. He took a couple steps toward Mason (one of our dogs) and then fell trying to reach for him. It won't be long. He's also into the dropping everything off the hi-chair phase. Every. Thing.

We had lunch with my cousin and her family yesterday after church. Landon was exhausted, but wouldn't go to sleep. My cousin offered to hold him while I finished up lunch, he was eating french fries in her lap, and the next second he was out. He ended up sleeping about 2 1/2 hours, mom got a nap too, which was great.

His fifth and sixth teeth have broken through. Three on top, three on bottom.

Landon Mocking his Mother

Landon loves the dog food bowls...that's the first place he goes when he gets down. This clip shows you what he thinks of mom saying no.

No Title

I'm finally getting Landon's cold...so my brain isn't working at its normal speed (yeah, yeah, insert joke here.)

So I'm just going to share a few pictures:

Landon's Robeez that he got from Grandma and Grandpa Rhodes for Christmas.

Landon loves his Daddy.

Landon offering his paci in exchange for getting out of his crib:

Smiling..."la, la, la, don't pay attention to me, I'm not doing anything..."

Better

Landon is doing much better. His coughing isn't so bad, although his nose is running like crazy. He's pretty good about the breathing treatments, once he gets used to it.

On the development front...Landon is doing lots of standing. His favorite is the window in the den. He loves to stand in front of the window and throw his balls at the window. Pretty funny now because they're just dodge balls - probably won't be funny if its baseball. But he still drops to his crawl if he wants to get anywhere. And we taught him "TaaaDaaaa!" He'll raise both his hands and say "ta-da" and then he cracks up cause he knows we're laughing at him. Landon also likes the feeling of doing raspberries when he has solid food in his mouth, he likes how the food then flies out of his mouth and slobber drips down his chin. He thinks this is so funny.

We've got to find shoes that velcro (and aren't $35.) I am NOT doing shoe strings any more and the shoes with elastic laces, he just slips those right off. But I really don't want to pay $30, that's like the price I'd pay for my own shoes! And I also don't want some gnasty (silent g, meaning worse than nasty, pronounced ga-nasty) robot or transformer on the side of some big black clunky shoe.

Also, I've decided to decorate Landon's bathroom with the Target Safari bath stuff. Won't that be so cute!

Breathing Treatments

Landon's update wasn't what we thought it was going to be. The doctor said his ears didnt' look any better and his breathing was raspy and shallow. So they did a breathing treatment there, switched his antibiotic and gave us orders for a breathing machine.

Aside from wanting to sit with me all the time (and hold my hair) he's been a lot better...playing with his toys and the dogs. So, as long as mom is in the room, everything is a-okay.

Keep him in your prayers this weekend, please.

On the mend

Bryan stayed home with Landon again yesterday. When I left yesterday morning, Landon was in the bath (only way to get out of the house.) Bryan called later and said Landon started falling asleep in the bath tub, so he took him out and he slept for 3.5 hours!

His cough is much, much better. He's still being a mama's boy. I can't leave him for a second. But he actually slept through most of the night last night. Awesome. He's at daycare today, then we have a doctor's appointment this afternoon to make sure his ear is getting better.

Its national Go Red for Women Day...hope you're all wearing your red!

Still sick

Poor, poor baby. Landon's still sick, although his cough does seem to be doing much better. He was running a fever last night and poor guy, had gas. Horrible gas. The kind that makes him cry and scream during the night. I felt so bad leaving him this morning. He wouldn't eat breakfast and wouldn't leave my side, we sat together while I got dressed, did my hair, my make up. I finally got him in the bath tub (for a vapor bath) and left him with daddy. I haven't gotten a phone call, so hopefully he got to sleep some.

Around 4:45, he just wouldn't stop crying. He wasn't even awake, I finally turned on TV and found JoJo Circus on, so he watched it until he fell asleep. I just want him to be well.
