We had a fun weekend (of course Dad has today off so he's still enjoying his weekend.)
On Friday, we had spaghetti, salad, bread, the works, even angel food cake with strawberries and whip cream for dessert. We gave Landon some noodles. He loved the way they flew threw the air, wasn't too interested in eating them (of course he'd already had garden vegetables and blueberry buckle - which is awesome by the way. We rented Nacho Libre - pretty funny.
On Saturday, my friend Sandy and I did a 5k run in Galveston, the Mardi Gras Beach Run. It was a little cold and windy, but the run was nice overall. I'm still battling a sinus infection, but my breathing was okay. Landon enjoyed the people, but wanted soooo badly to get down and crawl in the sand. He did have some muffins and bagels after the race. He wasn't just satisfied with the bagel I gave him, he had to toddle over to Sandy and get some of hers.
After the run we went to IHOP for their pancakes. By the way, they're having free pancakes on Tuesday for national Pancake Day. Then we went over to watch a Mardi Gras Parade. It was mostly bands and drill teams, with revelers walking. Landon got a ton of beads (without showing anything. LOL.) We headed home.
Yesterday, I woke up with a horrible sore throat, simply from having to sleep with my mouth open. So we stayed home from church. We took Landon for a walk yesterday afternoon and met some neighbors a couple streets over. They have two boys. The 20 month old was outside, so he and Landon rolled around in the grass while we visited.
It was a nice weekend. If anybody has any advice on how to get over a sinus infection (and yes, my husband has already told me doing the run on Saturday in the cold didn't help) then I'm all ears, well partly ears, since they're still clogged up too from all the blowing.
Oh, (have I rambled enough) I checked out the Baby Whisperer for Toddlers from the library. Interesting so far. I know there's mixed feelings about her books, but I've enjoyed reading her perspective on things.
* Landon walked some more last night. We practiced taking 3-4 steps to mom and dad. His balance is great when he's standing, but once he gets moving, he's still a little wobbly. Won't be long, then I'll wish we hadn't practiced at all.

get some of that saline spray and see the doc... you might need some antibotics now if you have had it a while... just be careful... if you start to drain into your lungs you can get a nasty case of broncitis... blecky... but thanks for the tip on Tuesday... might take Lore there for lunch... she loves pancakes hehehe...
ReplyDeleteI vote for the antibiotics. They usually knock those sinus infections right out.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome on Landon walking! My nephew started walking 2 months back and has all sorts of bumps and bruises...see the fun you have to look forward to? ;)
I read a few of the Baby Whisperer books and I really liked her perspective. I can't say that I really follow it all that well, but I did use her schedule for when Ellie was smaller.
