Date Night

Well, Bryan and I decided to have a little date last night. We went to the movies and watched "When a Stranger Calls." Pretty good. I jumped a few times, and kept my feet off the floor for most of the movie. We then headed off to Kemah and ate at Kemah Crab House. Then home to catch up on our shows.

Landon definitely got some exercise in yesterday. It was so much kicking, just constant, all day long, movement. By 11:00 last night, I'd had it. Thankfully, I was able to sleep through the night (if you don't count the bathroom breaks.) But he's back up this morning doing stretches.

We got one of our EBay packages in last night. Little 0-3 month sleepers. They're all in great condition. Once we get the gowns in, we'll be set for the first few weeks in the clothing department (I think.)

Oh, and the sad news this week - Krispy Kreme is pulling out of Houston. I know, I know, terrible. We actually haven't been there in over a year, but I only have until March 6 now, so I think I better make a trip there this weekend. That should make Landon happy.

Yoga

Yes! Tried yoga for the first time yesterday. It was great. There were, of course, some things I couldn't do (lay flat on your stomach) but for the most part, I think I kept up with everybody. I was totally feeling it after the class. But managed to go run a mile before I felt like passing out.

We ordered the crib and changing table/dresser today. Ouch. We decided to go with the Bassett stuff, it seemed more sturdy than anything else we looked at. Plus it was the first thing we picked out and we really, really liked it.

Bryan played volleyball last night (subbing.) And then he ran 3 miles when he got home. We're trying to prepare for a run we entered next week. Not sure if I'll be prepared by then, but I can always walk when I get tired.

We're going to look at a Captain's Bed we found in the swap shop tonight. Hopefully it'll look good and work into the nursery.

Braxton Hicks

So, I believe I've started having Braxton Hicks contractions. Basically, my stomach tightens up and then releases. Nothing that really hurts.

Landon isn't kicking as much now, but he is rolling and turning much more.

Back Rub

I had to post this...my wonderful husband gave me a terrific back rub last night. My back was killing me. I'm not sure if it's from the baby or from the work out, but I couldn't even sit on the couch. But Bryan, the wonderful, caring man that he is, spent a good amount of time last night rubbing the kinks out.

Oh, and I have no clothes. Well, I have sweaters - but since its getting close to the 80s here, I may have to splurge on a short sleeve shirt or some capris. Who knows.

Volleyball Open Gym

Last night was open gym at Gilruth. Bryan, Loi and I played against some guys, while Danny played with his reverse fours team on a woman's net. I felt pretty good. And my sets were looking okay. I didn't wear my knee pads so I wouldn't be tempted to go down, but there were times when I wish I had them. I was able to play for about 1 1/2 hours - that's after Bryan and I ran a lap at the house (.7 mile.)

Also - USA agreed to pay the 200K for employee membership to the new Gilruth gym. So I guess its a good thing we went ahead and cancelled our Lobo's membership. Now we'll just have to see if we can find a time when Gilruth isn't packed.

Bryan finished putting the ottoman back together last night. He had removed the fabric, so we could wash it and the cushion. Its great. Looks brand new. I needed to work some more on the baby's room, but watched TV instead.

And we ate a Chick-fil-a last night, so we didn't have left overs for lunch today. Bad thing. Guess we'll probably go to Quizno's (ugh.)

Nicole gets home tomorrow - that means one more night with the dogs. Overall they haven't been that bad, its just tiring. And dirty.

Week 29 Doctor Visit

I saw Dr. Johnson today. Everything is normal. In fact he said, I'm pretty much an example of the average pregnancy. Glucose test came back normal, my blood pressure is normal, the baby's heartbeat is normal, my weight is normal. I'm measuring right on schedule - 29 weeks. I go back in 3 weeks and then I'll start visits every two weeks.

Bryan and I worked on the nursery this weekend. I bought wooden letters that spell out "L-A-N-D-O-N" - they were half price at Hobby Lobby, and I painted them navy. I cleaned out the baby's closet and hung all his clothes according to size. We also found a glider and ottoman in the NASA ad sheet last week. We picked it up, washed the cushions, Bryan took apart the rocker, cleaned it and stopped all squeaking. It looks brand new. All for $50. (Compared to over $200+ in the store.)

Took pics this morning:

Not so bad, course the black pants kind of hide things.

Weekend

I ran 2.5 miles on Friday! Yay me. That was after I did an upper body workout. Of course my legs were screaming at me afterwards, but oh well. The Mardi Gras run is in 3 weeks. I know that if I sign up, there's nothing wrong with walking if I have to. Bryan's really been working on his running. I think the race will help motivate him. Its sad to see how far back our running has sunk. But, I guess we're doing something about it - that's what matters.

Day Care - Officially enrolled

So Landon is officially registered for Day Care. In about 22 weeks, I'll be handing him over to total strangers. But, the good news, they have internet access, so I can be irrational and overprotective at work, watching my child for the 8 hours he's away from me.

Day care enrollment meant a special trip over to League City, so what better way to celebrate than a steak sandwich and onion rings from Tookies. MMM...mmm...mmm...good. Oh, and a small cone from Baskin Robbin's (Snicker something or other) which I accidently dumped down Bryan's shirt. Seriously - I thought he had it.

Seven Months

Yeah, yeah, I know...I need to post more frequently.

I'm 28 1/2 weeks now. Landon moves ALL the time. His favorite time is between 9 and midnight. But he's starting moving around during the day too.

We started working on the nursery - moving the book cases out, cleaning up the closet. We're waiting til February to buy the crib and dresser (hoping for a sale.) The bedding we wanted (Puppies and Planes) went on sale a few weeks ago, so we got some of the pieces. Its perfect for the yellow room and matches with the Nautica quilt we have for the twin bed.

Bryan and I have started exercising again (new year.) We're cooking at home and trying to eat more fruits and veggies. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the weight gain to a minimum for the next 12 weeks. I really want to get my strength training back up so labor may be easier and of course, so recovery will be shorter. Its getting harder as less and less of my clothes are fitting.

We had a nice baby shower in Tallahassee. Gina invited everyone over to her house. We had food and played some games. We received lots of great baby stuff. Clothes, monitor, swing, money for the crib. Sharon also gave us some baby clothes at Christmas.

I go back to Dr. Johnson on the 31st. Then I start visits every 2 weeks. I had my glucose testing done last week, hopefully that will come back normal. We also registered at the hosiptol and found a day care. Now day care - that's a whole other story.

Let's play catch up.

So mom came down, December 8-11. Lots of shopping, eating out and pure exhaustion. We went to Katy Mills and walked, literally, until we dropped. My feet haven't been so sore in a long time. But, sure enough, we got up and went for more shopping the next day. We were up early for the JCPenney sale, so it wasn't too crowded yet. I finally found a pair of comfortable black dress shoes. Yay! Mom finished up most of her shopping too. We met Kim and family on Sunday for church and brunch at Rio Ranch. A little more shopping and back to the airport.

On the 12th, Bryan and I went to see A Very Merry Pops at the Houston Symphony. What a great show. They upgraded our seats when we got there and we had a fantastic view of the stage. All the christmas songs - it was so neat. And the baby had a great time - especially when they asked us to sing along.

We had COM volleyball playoffs, but lost in the first round to the first place team. We did manage to win a game, so not too bad. Bryan and I did a little bit more shopping last weekend and are finally finished (I think.)

The baby is constantly awake - at least that's what it feels like. Bryan was feeling him last night and I guess pushed a little too hard because the baby kicked him right back. You can now see him moving through my clothes. Weird, but neat.

We head out to Florida tomorrow night. We're spending Christmas there this year. It's supposed to be nice and warm for Christmas Eve, and then maybe a little bit of rain on Christmas Day. It's been a while since we've seen every one, so it'll be fun. Grace and Grayden have gotten so big.

When we get back, I'm flying out to West Texas - Bryan has to work next week, so he's driving out later to meet us for New Years. Hopefully we'll be able to haul the cradle back in the car. So, Merry Christmas, in case I don't write 'til the New Year.

Baby loves Daddy

Last night, Bryan rested his head on my belly and starting singing and talking to the baby. Of course, the baby started going crazy...twisting and turning, kicking. Very neat. Bryan's voice is so deep, it probably sounded like thunder going through all the amniotic fluid.

I measured my waist yesterday too. At 22 weeks, its 38 inches at the thickest spot. Crazy. But its nice to look down, see my belly sticking out, and not have to worry about trying to suck it in.

Volleyball
We won playoffs. Good thing, since we may be out of the league for a while - at least I will be. We played very well, probably the best we've played all season.

Weekend
Mom's coming in tonight. A huge cold front has stormed across Texas. I checked the weather earlier in Muleshoe and it was 1 degree, with a wind chill of -11. Hopefully Mom's plane will be able to get off on time and through Dallas - which was also hit hard yesterday by the cold. It was about 34 this morning when I came in to work. Not sure what all the plans are for this weekend, we may head out to Katy Mills. Then probably just shop around here.

The House is Glowing

After coming home to three more neighbors putting up lights, Bryan and I went on the hunt. No lights at Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Garden Ridge...finally at our Target we found 4 boxes of white C-7s. We snatched those up and headed to the other target, where we found another two boxes. And we got miniature red and white for the bushes. We spent Saturday night and Sunday afternoon putting them all up. It didn't take long at all and the house looks so cute.

We also spent some time cutting back one of our Tallow trees. Bryan roped the top and then sawed...I had to pull the tree away from the houses. A little dangerous I'm sure, but turned out fine. We then had to saw/cut the limbs into smaller pieces for the dump.

Baby
The Baby had hiccups today. At least that's what I assume they were. About five minutes of rythmic 'bumps' - very neat. He usually kicks and moves around 3 in the afternoon, which helps meetings go by a little faster.

Bryan had his ring sized this weekend. Yay. It now fits nicely. And we had my cleaned - huge difference. Its crazy how much soap and gunk collects in those tiny spaces.

Yawn...

Finally Friday and I couldn't be sleepier. I'm not sure I'll make it to 4:30.

We played volleyball down at College of the Mainland last night. Nothing exciting, except unfortuantely, we made playoffs - which means we have to play again in two weeks.

We took pictures - are you prepared for the belly?

Yep - getting bigger by the hour. In fact, three co-workers commented today that I'm really showing now. Um, thanks? At least I have a reason to gain during the holidays.

Bryan got approved to work 20 hours overtime in the next week. Which will be nice $$, but that's a lot of working. He's staying late, starting today. Some Friday for him.

Dickens on the Strand is this weekend - and its supposed to be 85 degrees tomorrow. Yeah, 85 degrees in December. Really puts you in the Christmas mood. Oh, and Sandy and I went by Nicole's at lunch - her back yard looks great. She had flagstone and new sod laid this week.
