Evac Update

We're safely in West Texas. We boarded up the house on Wednesday, helped Nicole board up her windows, packed clothes and important docs and got out of dodge. The drive was easy, no traffic, everybody must have been waiting for Thursday's forecast. We're staying at my mother's house.

Please keep praying for us and everyone in the area. With the current forecast and surge storm models, it will not be good for our house. I'm really not handling it well, but am trying to stay with my WOE. Thankfully, my sister is cracking too, so I do have some support (although my mom made french toast this am! But, I had eggs and cheese, and the crust of landon's toast.)

Our plans aren't planned until we get more information tonight and tomorrow. I'll try to keep the blog updated. I believe all of our Houston friends got out of town and are safely somewhere else.

  1. I'm glad you got out of town-- I was thinking about you (and everybody else in the area) this morning. Praying that it won't be as bad as they expect. Take care.

  3. Prayers! Glad to know you are safe. I was thinking of you last night, wondering how close you were to the coast. I knew you were near Houston but wasn't sure exactly where.

Possessions can be replaced. Family can't. You've done this enough you know that already, but it's still worth remembering.

Glad you've got support on the WOE. I'd have chucked it and gone straight to Dairy Queen if someone told me I had to evacuate and kiss my possessions goodbye (oh, wait, what was that advice I just gave? Yeah, OK, nevermind. It would suck to think all my stuff could get washed out to sea. Hang in there, girl).
